Feeding Difficulties

Is feeding feeling harder than expected

Many parents arrive feeling exhausted, worried and unsure why feeding feels so difficult. You may have been told everything is normal, yet your baby still seems uncomfortable during or after feeds.

Sometimes feeding difficulties are not simply about feeding. Birth experiences, body tension, nervous system overwhelm and early stress can all influence how comfortable a baby feels while feeding.

Every baby is different. Many babies respond positively when their body is given an opportunity to settle and release tension.

Some babies seem uncomfortable during feeds, struggle with wind, feed frequently, become unsettled afterwards, or find it difficult to fully relax while feeding.

Sometimes there may be more going on underneath the behaviour.

You may be noticing:

• Arching during feeds

• Frequent feeding

• Difficulty burping

• Wind and discomfort

• Reflux symptoms

• Clicking while feeding

• Difficulty settling after feeds

• Body tension

• Fussiness during feeds

• Feeding only in certain positions

How I Can Help

Using Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, I offer gentle support for babies and families during the early weeks and months after birth.

Many parents seek support when feeding feels harder than expected, when their baby seems uncomfortable despite everyone's best efforts, or when they simply feel something is not quite right.

Sessions are tailored to your baby's individual story, experiences and needs.

Things do not have to stay this hard forever.
